.shadows and movement :: 14. by kierrathorn .shadows and movement :: 14. by kierrathorn
From my Street Photography assignment from Uni.

Sometimes the simplest of things can look the most graphic when looking through a lens. I sometimes think that we miss out on life's little hidden beauties by seeing everything so sharp and clear. If it wasnt for my camera I would of never seen the world like this.

Please look at these images as a whole as that is how they are meant to be viewed.

Kudos to =SnipePhotography for the use of his camera.

Edit: Wow a DD.. A huge thanks to ^Obsidian-Fox and =SnipePhotography

.shadows and movement :: 14. by =p0isonphotography. A whole series on movement in street photography portrayed VERY well waits in this deviants gallery. This one stands out as my favorite of the bunch, the feeling of motion so excellently captured! ( Suggested by SnipePhotography and Featured by straightfromcamera )

There's an impressive sense of movement and vitality in this shot; I think you've done well to keep the main figure in focus. How is this achieved; matching the pan of the camera with their motion?

Thank you for your many kind words :)

Yes it was matching the pan with his movement and also using a slightly lower shutter speed :)

Yeah; it's something I've experimented with before but never with much success; it's shots such as these that inspire me to try again at some point.

This is the closest I have at present, but it's mostly all blur. I guess it's just a case of braving the city at night again, hah. It can get pretty lary.

ooher I like. the shutter speeds I use are normally around the 30th to a 8th of a second long, long enough to get the blur, short enough to get some in focus.

It's real motion blur, a panning effect in photoshop is the cheaters way.

Really nice! you catched the perfect moment and translated it into a piece of art...and I think you're absolutely right, sometimes our eyes and our mind see the world in a too much clear way!....and beauty is just around the corner but we can't notice!
Oh, and by the way......B&W it's the riskiest but the better choice you could ever done!!!

KEEP IT ON!!!
